Japanese want Sonny Bill Williams

Photosport NZ/"Seven Samurai" (1954)

First the Stormers in South Africa, now a Japanese rugby club called Panasonic wants Sonny Bill Williams.

According to sports media, Panasonic has offered Williams their biggest contract in the club's history, reportedly worth over $US 1 million over two seasons. It seems that Sonny's fame has spread to Japan and rugby officials there are hoping that Williams will boost public interest in the sport. Japan is set to host the 2019 Rugby World Cup Tournament, and recently former Wallaby George Smith played for a Japanese rugby club before heading back to France.

I wonder if the single women in Japan had anything to do with this recent drama - DBRSJ
